- 1.8 cu.ft. (51 litre) capacity all refrigerator
- Reversible door hinge for left and right hand opening
- Cycle defrost
- Gen II CanStor beverage dispenser holds 5 beverage cans
- Integrated handle
Once the coils are frosted then the fridge is not as efficient and won't regulate temperatures as well. Eventually, you have to defrost it. How do you do that in an office environment? The Danby unit NEVER needs defrosting as it only works as a fridge. It is a brilliant design.
There are a lot of other reviews on this mini-fridge, so I'll just add a couple of things to those:
- It actually looks a lot better than the picture gives it credit for. The top has a semi-cover over the handle ridges on the door and is shaped to work as a decent, slightly short, end table.
- I bought it to hold sodas and it's a great size for that. Fully loaded, it holds 39 cans and 1 2-liter bottle with very little wasted space inside.
- It's quiet, as long as you're not expecting a miracle. I keep it in my bedroom, on the far end of the room from my bed, and I can just hear the electrical-sounding hum when it's running, but it's not enough to keep me up. Much quieter than a small personal fan.
The only thing to be aware of, as others have mentioned, is that if you keep the temperature low that middle shelf does freeze towards the back. I had one can that was laying horizontally on that shelf expand and leak. Not a minus for me, but something to bear in mind when getting this unit. Overall, a great purchase.
